The Media influence on society According to Noam Chomsky, â€Å"What lies behind us and before us are very small matters compare to what lies right to the face.† The issue of the media influence on society’s cultural structure has frequently been debated. The impact on the audience by the media influences the interpretations of social order. Also, the media goes hand in hand with American politics. The information provided by the media is controlled by business cooperates and their economic interest that is shared by political elites. The media is responsible for creating different classes with respect to appearance, color, economic status, religion, and with the help of politics, advertisement because of the media’s powerful influence on public perception, which directly or indirectly affects the consciousness of a human being. The media can be very biased about a story, advertisements, coverage on different social issues. The media Pundits and talk heads talk about thinks which will make a story interesting, outrageous and as incredible as possible just to make profit out of it. For example, the media reporting of the Iraqi war, also known as â€Å"War on Terrorism†, influenced Americans to unleash a sentiment of patriotism which lead to a feeling of intolerance against the Middle Eastern. On the other hand, the media ignored people smashing the stores of the Middle Eastern looking ethnicity people in America. The Middle Eastern looking human being is looked upon as terrorist and the media help this influence of apprehension to spread. Entertainment and public information seen to be two key roles of the media and it is the mirror of the society. The media claims that it shows what audiences want to see. In reality the media is a dus... ...often heard, â€Å"oh, Oakland is dangerous place to live because it is mostly black neighborhood and crime rate is very high.† Why black and crime is related to each other? The media labels certain group of society but providing false or incomplete information about them. The black people are labeled by the media as criminals and drug addicts. Therefore, one will not see a white family living in a black neighborhood. The most effective way to change public opinion is the media. But information provided by the media is illogical. In the media, the image tends to float around stereotypes that spot of a person in society is mostly a function of their own hard work and achievement or, in case of the poor, lack of efforts and attainments. Labeling different social groups of society is on the outcomes of the media and it simply describes America as a class biased nation.

DyEsha Robinson EDU 460 Motivational Paper September 23, 2009 Educators across the country are worried that kids aren't getting enough physical fitness. Kids in elementary school may be getting a lot of their activity on the playground at recess instead of P. E. classes. Most grade schools don't have P. E. teachers. Regular teachers can teach the kids physical education, but the state says many of them don't feel equipped to do that. Statistics prove more kids are becoming inactive and overweight. Among youth six to 19 years old, 16-percent are overweight. That's more than 9-million kids across the country. To compound the problem, state officials say as schools strive to meet intense academic standards with programs like â€Å"No Child Left Behind†, schools are de-emphasizing P. E. P. E. encourages kids to find something active they love to do, like dancing, swimming, hiking, even skateboarding, because then they're more likely to develop healthy habits. Put simply, at a time when every penny is being pinched by every school in every district in every county in every state, physical education is taking a beating. The experts and educators say there is no doubt that the erosion of P. E. has been a major contributor to the skyrocketing obesity rates. And, of course, the more kids are unhealthy, the less they can exercise. This is their circle of life. Improving children's health may not be a convincing rationale for school administrators. A big argument for cutting back on P. E. is that it wastes time that kids need to be spending in academics, and that it will reduce test scores, which is the death knell for schools. But a studies show that spending more time in P. E. does not interfere with academic achievement. In fact, in some studies, including ours, there is some evidence that it might even improve academic achievement. Other studies have shown that P. E. boosts brainpower (attention, test-score fanatics) if it's done right. That may be the key to fighting obesity as well—instead of just changing the amount of P. E. kids get, change the type. Learning to manage children's behavior in the outdoor environment might help with classroom management inside. Going outside and participating in a physical activity provides a break from the brain drain of sitting in the desk, so perhaps the teacher benefits as much as the students and everyone goes back in more refreshed and with a more positive attitude. The U. S. Department of Education contends in a newly released study that 99 percent of public elementary schools have some type of physical education built into their curriculum in 2005. But how often students actually engaged in physical activity varies widely. Between 17 and 22 percent of students attended P. E. each school day. Another 11 to 14 percent scheduled P. E. three or four days a week and 22 percent scheduled P. E. one day a week. Exercise creates more alertness in a classroom situation. It is round seven and you are the only one left alive. You are nervous with your hands shaking uncontrollably. Your heart beat increases rapidly while you try to survive. Your hands begin to sweat as you make your way toward the bomb hoping someone doe not shoot you from behind. Slow and steady. The bomb is about to detonate in forty-five seconds. You have to move faster. Suddenly, you see an enemy run out of his hiding sport. You quickly draw your assault rifle up and shoot him down. One down, two more to go. Time is still ticking. You began to search for the enemies faster so you can defuse the bomb. As you camouflage yourself behind a bush, an enemy walks right by you. You stab him in the back. Now, it is only you and one other enemy. You still have to move because time is still working against you. You only have twenty-eight seconds left. You move toward to the bomb to start defusing it when out of no where you see the enemy coming toward you. You hurry and put the detonator down as you rush to draw your weapon before he kills you and the bombs blows. Both of you are scared to die so the shoot out lasts for fourteen seconds until you finally put a bullet in his head which was your last bullet in the clip. You have six seconds to defuse the bomb. Your life is at risk here; you have to hurry. As you drip sweat from your forehead you are able to cut the wire and defuse the bomb. You have won the game of search in destroy all by yourself.
